Description

This Central American Banded Gecko is a very sweet individual with plenty of personality and still developing confidence. They can be a little skittish at first — slightly more so than leopard geckos — but with calm, regular handling they settle in well and become much more manageable over time. They are currently thriving in a well set-up 3ft vivarium that provides the correct warmth, humidity, and plenty of secure hiding spaces to help them feel safe and supported.

Enclosure: 3ft vivarium with secure ventilation and plenty of cover

Heating:
Warm Side: 28–30°C
Cool Side: 22–25°C
Night Temperature: 18–22°C

Humidity: 50–70% with a dedicated humid hide to support healthy shedding

Hides: Minimum of three (warm hide, cool hide, humid hide) plus additional cover throughout

Substrate: Soil/sand mix or naturalistic arid substrate suitable for humidity retention

Feeding: Feeding well on appropriately sized crickets, locusts, and mealworms

Additional Notes

A slightly more sensitive species than leopard geckos, requiring patience and a calm, gentle approach to handling. Once settled, they become confident and rewarding to keep.

A calcium dish is provided alongside regular supplementation to support strong growth and bone health.
