Her vibrant colouration and confident daytime activity make her a fantastic display animal.
Species Name: Giant Day Gecko
Scientific Name: Phelsuma grandis
Age: CB18
Sex: Female
Temperament: Active, alert, and best suited to observation rather than frequent handling due to their delicate skin and quick movements
Average Adult Size: 10–12 inches
Average Life Span: 10–15 years
Photos Taken: 15.6.26
Current Care
Enclosure: Tall tropical setup with bamboo, branches, cork bark, and live or artificial plants for climbing, basking and hiding

Day Temperature: 26–30°C with a basking area of 30–32°C
Night Time Temperature: 20–24°C
Humidity: 60–80% with regular misting
Diet: Gecko Diet, fruit-based gecko diets, insects such as crickets, locusts, and Dubia roaches dusted with appropriate supplements
They are currently feeding well on a varied diet of fruit-based gecko food and live insects and are regularly misted to maintain proper hydration and humidity levels.
Additional Notes
Highly active during the day and always visible within a well-designed enclosure, Giant Day Geckos are among the most striking display reptiles available. Their bright green colouration, red markings, and inquisitive nature make them a standout species in any collection.
Due to their delicate skin, which can tear or shed when restrained, handling should be kept to a minimum. A well-planted enclosure with plenty of climbing space and access to UVB lighting is essential for their long-term health and wellbeing.
Best suited to keepers with some reptile or arboreal lizard experience, although dedicated beginners willing to meet their environmental requirements can also be successful with the species.
Photos/videos available upon request.
Collection is currently in-store only. We are looking to introduce courier options soon. If you would like to arrange something in advance, please give us a call.
