Little Mourning Geckos For Sale
Description
These beautiful Mourning Geckos are healthy, feeding well, and developing exactly as expected. Species Name: Mourning Gecko
Scientific Name: Lepidodactylus lugubris
Age: CB25/26
Sex: Female (this species reproduces through parthenogenesis, so males are exceptionally rare)
Temperament: Fast-moving, shy, and best suited to observation rather than handling
Average Adult Size: 3–4 inches
Average Life Span: 8–10 years
Photos Taken: 15.6.26
Current Care
Enclosure: Well-planted tropical setup with cork bark, branches, and dense foliage for climbing, hiding, and egg-laying
UVB: Low-level UVB recommended (mounted above the mesh)
Day Temperature: 24–28°C
Night Time Temperature: 20–24°C
Humidity: 60–80% with regular misting
Diet: Crested Gecko Diet, fruit-based gecko diets, fruit flies, small crickets, and other appropriately sized insects dusted with supplements
They are currently feeding well on a varied diet of gecko food and live insects and are regularly misted to maintain proper humidity and hydration.
Additional Notes
Active during the evening and throughout the night, Mourning Geckos are fascinating to observe and make excellent display animals. Their small size, communal nature, and ability to reproduce without males make them a particularly interesting species to keep.
Regular misting and a well-established enclosure with plenty of cover are recommended to help them thrive.
Suitable for beginners with some knowledge of tropical reptile care, though their speed and delicate nature mean they are not ideal for regular handling.
Photos/videos available upon request.
Collection is currently in-store only. We are looking to introduce courier options soon. If you would like to arrange something in advance, please give us a call.
